Get Your Running Shoes On

We are delighted to announce that we have found 5 willing volunteers to fill our Golden Bond places for the 2010 London Marathon. Dennis, Lucy, Sharon, Stuart and Robert have all pledged to raise a minimum of £1,500 in sponsorship and we would love everyone to show their support by visiting our JustGiving page to sponsor them. It is very simple, just click on the donate button on this page!

Every year 120,000 runners apply to take part in the marathon via the online ballot scheme but only 20,000 are successful in securing a place. We would love to recruit some of these runners to run for us so if you know of anyone who has a ballot place and would like to raise some funds for a local cause please contact Louise Irving on 01473 719296 or email her at

Advance Warning for Garden Lovers

We hope you will join us for the 2nd Charity Garden Show at Abbots Ripton Hall near Huntingdon, home of Ormiston Ambassador, Lady De Ramsey. The show is expected to attract as many as 15,000 visitors during the weekend of the 25th to the 27th June 2010. In 2008 the show raised £65,000 for local Cambridgeshire charities, with £10,000 coming to Ormiston.

 Advertising

If you know of any local companies who might like to take out an advert in the Show Programme the costs are as follows:

A full page advert is £170, half page £90 or quarter page £50.

For 2010 there is a new section on the Garden Show website - 'Places to Stay' and 'Places to Eat', where for a £25 donation B&B's, hotels and restaurants can feature and display their contact details, a photo and a link to their own website.

Donate a prize for the Silent Auction

We need about 50 prizes so any help in finding some good lots will be most appreciated. Here a just a few ideas - holiday accommodation, airline tickets, meals, hot air balloon rides, tour of House of Lords with tea, a days shooting for 2010/11 season, fishing – in fact anything at all that you think the general public will bid for.

Volunteer to help in the gardens

Alternatively, if you are a keen gardener and can spare a little time on either the Saturday or Sunday to help at the gate you will automatically get free entry and a famous W.I.Tea!

If you can help with any of the above or would like to volunteer please contact Louise Irving on 01473 719296 or email her on .
