Research and consultation are fundamental to Ormiston's work. They are used to inform and direct the development of our services and to raise awareness of the issues which children and families face in their daily lives.

A number of Action Researchers are employed and based within our projects. We also commission a range of research through our partnerships with other voluntary and statutory organisations and funding bodies.

Our current programme includes studies of the needs of children and young people within newly arrived families (these include migrant, refugee and asylum seeking families), Travelling communities and families affected by imprisonment.
